Dolce 2.0 is Out and Now I Am Finally Satisfied With This Game


HELLO!

Dolce 2.0 is finally here! 

(No one was waiting for this Xi.)

WELL I WAS!!

Honestly, Dolce  was already was finished. Technically. But a lot of things about the game kind of bothered me the entire time it was out. And whenever I would tell my friends (my irl friends) to "go play my game".... I couldn't. LMAO. Cause I felt like it wasn't as good as it could be.

I had a friend who played Dolce give me a lot of feedback and I took a lot of that into account while going back to make some changes. 

It was also good practice for me... now I know how to make a gallery in Renpy! Hooray!!

One of the things I debated on adding as well are multiple endings. But the story that I wrote always felt like it only should have one ending.

I don't really think a game that is supposed to be uplifting should also have bad endings or mediocre endings. It just feels kind of like a downer.  

To me, visual novels don't mean that they're also choose your own adventure games. It's just a medium for storytelling. So :)

Anyway, in addition to the gallery with CGs and Other Stuff, I also added the ability to DITCH SCHOOL. Also improving the other methods of "stupid ways to defeat the time loop" by making a menu for you to choose from instead of them just... randomly happening without permission.

In addition, there's a New Character?!?! Yeah. You can meet Anna's Dad now! Yay!!

There's also more conversation with Layla and Chip now!!

I fixed a few bugs as well. There were some where like... things were just not coherent LKSFJGSH. Like Katie would get taken away by her friends after school and be like "I know we said we'd hangout" but Katie actually did not... say that. That day.

There was another one where you could meet Austin afterschool but then see him the next day and forget that... you saw him previously. Man.

Hopefully this will be the end of all the inconsistencies. I found quite a lot of them. Turns out you miss a lot of things when you're writing a script in three weeks... and not organizing your story puzzle routes LKJSLKFJGSH.

I also changed some wording and stuff that bothered me.  And I stuck the whole script in Grammarly and found a bunch of mistakes, HAHA.
